you say that like you think they've earned respect in the past....

I'd say they'd have to be about 9-7

but it would depend more on how they played...

Ummm...to earn most ppl's respect they're going to have get 9 wins a year consistently...but this year, they have to get at least 8 games...and in the other 8 games they will lose, they have to show a good fight...if every game they lose is within 1-6 points people will see that they have real potential and also see that this the Lions want to win...

It's not just a record that would help earn some respect, they should also stop drafting WRs in the first round and fire Matt Millen. That would be a step in the right direction, as for wins, maybe 8-8, in the NFC you can make the playoffs with a .500 record.

Cheers!

I live in Bloomfield Hills ... near Detroit the only way the lions will get some respect is for their owner to die, they get some new, better managment. that management should fire players like john kitna and not draft players like drew stanton but draft new coming players to get a better team going. It also isnt helping that every game is a sell out crowd. why pay the money for better players when u can have low payed players and your still rakeing in the money from the sell out crowd. The lions will not have any respect untill they go to a super bowl.

they will go 8-8 at best, but to gain some real respect they may need 9-10 wins

A winning record 9 or more wins. But if they have another horrible season, I would have no respect for them!

It will take many years for Detroit to get any respect after their performance over the last 10 years. They can't do it in just one year.

atleast a 8-8 record, though i never have lived in detroit somehow i am a suffering fan of theirs! lets face it, ford hired matt millen, for what? ford has the $$$$ to put a playoff team on the field yearly, detroit is a great sports town, now its the lions turn to pick it up a notch, if not,, fire millen, demand ford to sell out and regroup!
