What are your motives for desiring to be at a friends house without parents? If you are hoping to be able to do things that you otherwise wouldn't, you may want to rethink the situation. If the situation presents itself where your friends parents are at work and your friend is lonely at home, that may be a reasonable time to want to go over. Tell your parents why you want to be there and that they can trust your judgment. But don't push the issue - if you beg and beg them for this they may get suspicious and wonder what the real reason is behind you're desire to be alone without parents. I don't mean to take sides here, but your parents are protecting you. My parents had the same rules and really, it's not as bad as you think. As long as you're living in their house you need to go by their rules even if they often suck. My parents were the same way and I learned to respect that, there are real reasons behind this rule. Talk to your parents to find out what their reasons are. They most likely trust you - it's a matter of not trusting the other people in the house with you. You may not be able to convince them and you're much better off accepting the rules your parents make because they will trust you much more in the long run if you respect their wishes. You can inform them of the situation and why there aren't parents, but I doubt they will be willing to let you go still, there are too many unknowns for them to be comfortable with that. You never know who might try something if they know a couple of teens are home alone. You may fight it now - but you will thank them someday for their protection.

Usually my parents don't let me go over to a boys house unless there is a parent there but I've never slept over at a boys house before Heres the reason why they want parents there.
Parents are really anal about their kids safety since neither of you (you and your friend I'm assuming because your not 16 yet) do not have your drivers license you will have no way to get to the hospital if you need too. its not that they think your going to get into trouble they just feel as if its safer if a parent is there. its just the way that it goes. tell them that you'll call them if anything goes wrong. or maybe some neighbors that will be home that night in case something happens. thats all they are worried about.

They do trust you, it's probably just that they don't want anything to happen to you, they want to keep you safe. And no matter how old you are your parents will always worry about you. The only way my parents will let me go to a friends' house without parents, (I'm 16) or have friends over when they aren't here is if it's only girls. Nevertheless, like someone else said, in two years you'll be 18 and can do whatever you want, so just hang tight if they don't loosen up. :)

Im gonna be honest thats CRAP its not being a caring parent thats just over protective they should trust you and then if something happens and you bad theeen stop the trust. I feel sorry for you. Ask them to give you a chance because your almost and adult and you are trust worthy etc. But wen you ask them no matter what do nooot get irritated or shout even if you dont get your own way, be diplomatic and fail and calm. Show them that you are mature etc. Act as mature as you can in every way from now on see what happens.

When did gay become a bad word. "I know it's gay". Maybe people should start saying "I know it's 15 turning 16" every-time we think something is stupid. I'm not gay, but I'm mature enough not to say such sophomoric things.

Maybe that's the problem your parents have with you. They don't think you're mature enough to handle situations like that.

Well, I hate to say it, but I am with them. Whether you intend it or not, many times things "get out of hand" at that age and they are just trying to protect you from such a situation.

Better your parents care.

It is not "gay" it is being a caring parent.
In just two more years you will be turning 18. Then you can do what you want - until then your are their responsibility and they have to set what they view as reasonable rules.

It sounds like your parents really care about you... And you can't convince them. Just drop it. You live in their house, so you have to follow their rules... You should be grateful that you have parents who care - even though it doesn't seem that way now! You'll appreciated it later on!

It shows they're caring parents, but your getting older and you have to tell them that.
