How about:
When I was young I had a one track mind, but now I am a well rounded individual.
or you could use simple.
When I was young I used to be simple, but now I am a well rounded individual.
By the way there is no comma after young. Just thought I would mention that. Good luck on your essay. If you need any more opposites, try googleing "Antonym" and the word you are looking for the opposite to.

what cannot be described in words? ~~~ Reading the list of examples above, I realize that any and every example is/has been/ continues to be defined/described in words! 'God' can be described as Omni-. Or ineffable. Or the Big Butted Bimbo in the Sky or whatever. The point is that all can be described. Love is Faith/Trust. It is also immature juvenile possessiveness. It is also Freeing and supporting the 'other' as two become One, complete Faith/Trust.. One! Whether you like the description or not (whether it works for you) is another thing. All descriptions, though, are Truth! The complete description/definition of anything are the sum-total of all unique Perspectives; Every Perspective is unique, by definition/nature. The First Law of Soul Dynamics; "For every Perspective, there is an equal and opposite Perspective!" "The complete Universe (Reality/Truth/God/'Self!'/Tao/Brahman..... or any feature herein...) can be defined/described as the synchronous sum-total of all Perspectives!" - Book of Fudd ALL INCLUSIVE!!! Even 'Silence' can be described with words, poetically, prose... it has been done and continues to be done. I propose that there is not anything that cannot be described/defined with words. No particular definition is the complete Truth, but All are! Awe! That which can only be thoughtlessly 'experienced', can make the thought rounds, and everything in thought is defined/described. Words, generally, are not the experience (words *are* the experience of 'words'...). And, hey, hon, if you are offended by the way that I look, let me know and I won't respond to your posts anymore. K?

Well since well rounded means fully developed and well balanced, you might consider this statement:
When I was young, I was very inexperienced and naive, but after a a lot of life's lessons, I have become a well rounded individual knowledgeable in many ways.
