Yes! They are a river-dwelling constrictor-type snake that lives in the Amazon region (South America). They get very large (up to 30 ft in length) and can be dangerous to humans--but the movies usually greatly exaggerate their dimensions as well as their temperament--they CAN be dangerous, as can any python or boa constrictor, or family dog--in fact more people are killed by dogs, than snakes and most snake attacks occurr when a person or persons are harrassing the snake in question.

Yes they really are. I watched the Anaconda movies and I was dissapointed. But back on topic Anacondas live in the Amazon and you can sometimes spot them in zoos. Now unless you live in the Amazon I wouldn't worry!

Anacondas are real, yes, they are a type of snake, just like cobras or pythons. Never heard of one reaching the monstrous size of the one in the movie "Anaconda," however.

yes but not as long as they are depicted in the "anacondas" movies. they do live in the depths of the Amazonian rain forests and the Amazon river. they are very hard to find though

yes, i think they get to be like 20-40 feet or something like that.... not quite the 400 foot beast in the movies...but big enough that i wouldn't wanna swim with one....
