50% of Americans consume less than the RDA for vitamin C. 25% consume so little vitamin C they are at risk for developing Scurvy!

There is a very good chance you are deficient in vitamin C- the most common cause of easy bruising.

Suggestions:
1) eat 5-9 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables every day

2) take 500 - 2000 milligrams of vitamin C supplements daily

3) take a quality multivitamin/mineral supplement daily.

4) see a nutrition-oriented healthcare provider (Chiropractor, Naturopathic Physician, Certified Clinical Nutritionist, or that rare Medical Doctor) for a thorough nutritional assesment.

Note: there can be other causes of bruising such as vitamin K deficiency and certain types of blood cancers. So, suggestion #4 above is really important for you.

Best wishes and good luck.

if you are taking ibprofen or asprin regularly, you can bruise more easily because these medications interfere with blood clotting (and thus cause more bleeding into the skin or tissues)
