Hitler preached Christianity in his speeches and writings but he may have being doing so for purely political reasons. One of his objectives was to show the German people that the Nazi philosophy was the exact opposite of the atheistic, “godless” communists.

The German Christians also supported Hitler’s rise to power and were rewarded with the establishment of the Reich Protestant Church and the election of a Reich’s Bishop. Hitler declared that Germany was a Christian nation but there is obvious reason to doubt the sincerity of his beliefs.

I think Hitler was politically savvy enough to realize the advantages of winning the conservative Christian vote and that professing Christianity could attract many of the working class who might otherwise have been attracted to the left-wing parties.

Hitler considered himself to be a Christian so does George W. Bush. Actions, however, speak louder than words. Neither has demostrated Christianity in deeds only in words.

Scholars are still unsure whether or not Adolf Hitler was a believing Christian or just a politically cunning theist, but what is certain however is there is no evidence he was an atheist.

Some Hitler quotes for your enjoyment:

“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.”
“I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so.”
"My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter........"
"I say: my Christian feeling tells me that my lord and savior is a warrior. It calls my attention to the man who, lonely and surrounded by only a few supporters, recognized what they [the Jews] were, and called for a battle against them, and who, by God, was not the greatest sufferer, but the greatest warrior. . ."

Hitler paid lip service to Paganism as well as Christianity. This is a pointless debate. Nobody will truly know his twisted belief.

It is an indisputable fact that Hitler considered himself a loyal and faithful christian. He believed himself to be doing the work of god by eliminating the Jews and bringing Germany to world power.
