I am trying to find a short story by SK where a man drives a car along a road. The road or forest he is driving thru seems to change or transform and he ends up in some other location or looses hours of time... Any idea what it’s called?

I know this is vague – I read it a long time ago…

its called 'Mrs. Todd's shortcut'. its in a short story book of his called skeleton crew and i remember the inspiration for the female character who leads him on those roads (shortcuts) was his wife. ends with them driving off together when she returns for him in his old age.

I know the story but can't think of the name. It was actually some female that taught the guy about it, I can't remember if he worked for her or what. It was something about driving so fast that you kinda "folded" time like you would fold a map and would skip part of it. It was a good story, and it wasn't ending up in other places it was skipping through time. I think it was actually going to the point of going back in time. She was always looking for the shortest path. Well maybe with all the information someone else will remember the name, good luck.

The title is not immediately familiar, however, Stephen King has published a number of books of his short stories, Skeleton Crew is one that pops to mind, check amazon.com or bn.com for other books of his short stories.

Or maybe you'll get lucky and someone from Answers will know the exact title you are after.

Good luck :)

Stephen King wrote a book called 'The Mirror' where it is three stores in one book all wrapped around the presence of a mirror.

Sorry. I thought I had read everything King had ever written, short, long, and under his pen name, but that doesn't sound familiar...

i think of that is particularly sturdy! the only element is you desrcribe the atmosphere slightly too a lot and that's slightly repetative. possibly decrease it down and get to the factor of the tale. yet ordinary that is sturdy. save engaged on it :)
