if you want to be OK never deny the bad characteristic like I'll never be depressed, never say the negative word .
you should say the positive one like i feel great all time.

It possible but highly unlikely because the brain isn't easily deceived. When the words: brain-wash, indoctrinate
and program are used they actually deal with the illusion of the mind (the
thoughts and logic which derive from the brain) and not the brain itself.
No, you can't hypnotize yourself into
believing that everything is okay; when,
in fact, they're not.
And if problems are not dealt with...
you're merely burying them back
further; deeper into the subconscious
and into dangerous terrain.
You seem to be pretty observant regarding your situation so, all I would like to add is that confronting those issues which are haunting and tormenting you is going to be your best option. But, in the mean time,
consider making some lifestyle changes. Break away from your normal
routines and try to keep your mind busy with positive activities. There
must be something that you love doing
besides keeping to yourself and avoiding company?
You view happiness as other people's
lives. But true happiness is your attitude toward being and making yourself happy. No one else can define
nor deliver that perception of happiness for/to you.
You're the gatekeeper/guardian of you.
Good luck and good health. Remove yourself from the depression which has come to swindle you out of a better, more fulfilling life. Arise to the new you; for you deserve better than what you've settle for in this existence.

It would be dependent upon two major variables. One, is your depression situational, e.g., you recently experienced a depressing event, the dying of your pet. Two, is your depression clinical in nature. In order for it to be considered clinical, the duration of the depression for have to be for a period of four weeks or greater and generally you would be unable to differentiate as to what specifically was causing your depression, e.g., getting a divorce. If the depression is situational, of course you would have periods of feeling down; however, not for an extended period of time. If the depression is clinical in nature, it could possibly be some biochemical imbalance in your brain that may require some type of medication(s). Dependent upon the duration of your depression, you may need some medical intervention for a short period of time, i.e. less than six months.

In either situation, you can begin to "reprogram" your thinking by challenging some possible irrational beliefs, e.g., I think that I will NEVER be depressed again. The irrationality of this belief is that everyone, from time to time, will experience some degree of depression due to life situations. So if you change your thinking to it is o.k. to be depressed or down in the dumps once in awhile AND I will get over it, what you are doing is changing your cognitions which in turn may change the way that you feel.

well your body will believe anything your mind tells it.Don't worry you are just fine crying is a normal emotion not an erroneous zone.Getting upset or angry are erroneous zones we have to think about what is upsetting us replay it get mad etc.where crying is an emotion and a normal release it to is a great way to replinish your soul too. Keep smiling or cry comes what may Crying is normal, so just because you cry doesn't mean you're not okay , whan in fact you are normal.Your friend in Christ, Kary

You are playing head games with yourself and now you actually believe it.

See a therapist, depression hurts.....I got that line from a commerical. But I think it is a serious condition and you need to talk to someone other than yourself. !
Sorry I am being a bit flippant, it's just I am trying to not make my words sarcastic but still get the point across that you shouldn't diagnose yourself.

I guess that's possible. Like when your in a medical study and they give some people the actual medicine and others a pill that looks the same, but really doesent have the medicine in it. It's your mind thinks something is helping, but really the pain was in your mind the whole time.
