I am driving to the store and come to a stop light. In front of me I see a Kerry/Edwards Bumper sticker on the car in front of me... the fact that they are living in the past did not bother me... it was what was next to that sticker that did. You know those ribbon stickers/magnets that say things like "support the troops" and so on?... well this one said "FORGIVE our troops".

How is it these liberals think they support the troops when they promote appoligetec garbage like that? Forgive the troops for what? Doing their jobs? Risking their lives for OUR country? Bringing freedom to people who previously never had it? What are you libs begging for forgiveness for?

My hunch is you think our troops are the lowest form of American and they kill women and children for fun. This is what you spout off all the time right? "Since our troops invaded Iraq 600,000 (made up number) civilians have been killed." As if our brave men and women are responsible.

It makes me sick.. you?

Delphi,

What is weak about it? What, I lied about what the thing said? Go shop your lib outlets.. I'm sure you will find it. I will tell you what is weak though... your avoiding answering a simple question. Difficult isn't it?

Mitchell,

How is it spun? Do me a favor and have the courage to tell me what you are begging forgiveness for from others for our troops actions.

ANSWER THE QUESTION!

Sweet Jane...

"We go into other nations for profit and to curb their numbers,
sorry, that's just the fact."

Really sweet jane... How many illegal aliens are here right now? How many products do you see WITHOUT a made in China label and How much property do the Japanese own here in America?

Great argument... clap... clap

2007-08-17 08:15:28 · update #3

Oh.. and sweetjane... how much oil is coming here from Iraq? Look up that one for me. Of course if you actually found out you wouldn't be able to spout the "oil" thing all over the place... I take that back... I'm sure you still would as it fits with your agenda.

2007-08-17 08:17:45 · update #4

some of you can't seem to pay attention to the question. This saying was in fact on a car. When a lot of the wacko little libs out there profess to supporting the troops... please tell me how this does that?

And YES... in a political forum you generalize based on how the majority of the party acts or thinks about a subject. If you happen to be a part of that party and you don't agree with their point of view on a subject well then.. 1.) good for you... 2) this question isn't aimed at you then is it?

Why do you have to explain this every time?

2007-08-17 08:24:04 · update #5

Sweetjane... since you don't allow e-mail... an accurate count can be found at www.iraqbodycount.com

Also, we are so sophisticated with our weaponry now days that we are extremely accurate with our targets. If we truly did not care and we were barbarric... we could have bombed the whole place to heck and back or even nuked it... not lost a single American life and then controlled the whole country in no time. Now why do you suppose we didn't do that?

And just help me out on this one... is it our soldiers who are strapping bombs to themselves and walking amongst the civilians? I am sure the terrorists aren't killing civilians... they rarely target them right?

I think you're just sick.

Maybe where you live there are only Kerry/Edwards stickers, but here in Ohio, there are tons of Bush/Cheney stickers on cars. So in that brief time when Bush wasn't imploding and sputtering, those guys were sore losers, and now are apparently in Denial.

I haven't seen a "forgive" ribbons, but I think you need to just get over it. I mean, we invaded a country, and you want to cry because some people have a sticker that seems a bit insulting?

Man, you're going to be really unhappy when there's a Democrat President, huh?

Yes it does make me sick. I see these kinds of things occasionally on cars around Atlanta as well.
9 times out of 10, they also have a rainbow sticker as well.

They did the same things back during the Vietnam War. Apologizing for the troops and such. They also used the phrase "chickenhawk" back then to. They may think it is new, but it is definitely an old tactic used to avoid true debate or resolution to any issue. It is an ad hominem argument at best.

What really makes me sick is the fact that the very ones that try this apologetic stance, are the very ones that 5 years ago were sending the troops off to Iraq with their blessings.
Once again, a democrat tactic. They did this back in Vietnam as well.

It makes sense that most of the time we have had a Republican president. The majority of Americans can see right through the democrat lies.

I hope youre satisfied with the liberal responses. They are elaborate webs of pure denial and contempt for our troops, mission, commander in chief, and the American way of life. But I guess protesting and condemning our troops is sadly becoming the new liberal American way. Our brave men and women in uniform are hated and just viewed as the republicans partys own personal nazi storm troopers.

Liberals dont quite have the patriotism we do and are therefore unable to support the troops. They believe what they see in the liberal media, that Bush is evil, and that the military is just an extension of him and his policies and therefore something to be despised.

It makes me sick too!
What also make me sick is responses to this question that state things about freedom of speach while degrading you for using that freedom.
If it's "OK" for people to have this bumpersticker, Then why is it not "OK" for you to be sickened by it, don't ALL have the same freedoms?

Our Troops (as a whole) have nothing to be forgiven for!

These people need to learn freedom isn't free, and these BRAVE men and women are paying for YOUR freedom!

And I must say Sweetjane, you need to be better educated, it seems you have been indoctrinated but not educated. If you want REAL news about whats going on over there, try: http://www.mnf-iraq.com/.
I never see these stories on the "News"

They might just as well have said forgive the Islamic militant terrorists. Just who is killing who in Iraq. Our military, to their own peril, are making sure it is a terrorist before they take action. How many of the ones we have lost were lost because they DID NOT act on their first suspicion, and as one of your respondants said how many US military personnel have been suicide bombers. It is time to lay the blame in Iraq squarely where it belongs, at the feet of radical Islam.

No one said every person born into this country is required to have more than one brain cell.

Although that might be a great idea.

I do not believe all Liberals have this manner of thinking. And I think it is wrong for you to generalize an entire group of people, because of what one idiot had on their bumper. As for me... I'm not Liberal, Democrat, OR Republican. I vote for those I see fit ro run for office.

And one more thing...

I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

God bless you Tanya (little sis)! I love you and I am proud of you! Thank you for fighting for our country!

You make me sick. For four years, no Democrat has been able to speak without beginning "I support the troops..." When was freedom of speech subordinated to runaway militarism? If it continues, we'll have no civilians left, just a warrior-state of drolling Bubbas fighting the entire world. I'm a human being first, and then an American, and I agree with a majority of the world when I say that the Iraq war isn't human. The troops are unwitting tools of Halliburton and the other corporate criminals behind it. I support the troops who refuse to go back time after time while Commander Bush seeks his glory in vain.

Nah, but your spinning is making me a little dizzy.

Got plenty of courage pal, more than your neocon chicken hawk friends will ever have.

I hope the citizens of Iraq who have died and lost their homes can FORGIVE our troops for the occupation that followed the removal of Hussein (which was a huge mistake to being with, in Cheney's own words from a 1994 interview on why Bush Sr. didn't take out Hussein in the first Gulf War).

Our troops deserve to be forgiven, they thought they engaged in a noble cause and it turns out they were being used as pawns in a political game.

And of course, all Americans SUPPORT our troops as well and hope they can get out of that mess and home as quickly as possible. I wish I could say they are committing their lives to keep us safe here, but in reality they are committing their lives for political propaganda. It's a terrible thing.

Yes. And I'm a liberal.

It also makes me sick that you are so small minded to believe that everyone fits under one label. So your "hunch" is patently wrong and asserts your lack of credibility.

Perhaps the message was more directed at the terrorists? Forgive our troops because they are doing their duty and were told to go, so don't attack them? Claiming that no civilians have been wrongfully killed is a mark of ignorance.

Obviously, something has gotten them upset in Iraq that they have been increasing attacks on our soldiers. If we have brought freedom to those who never had it before, then why would they attack? You may want to try thinking for yourself instead of believing everything you hear.
