I'm low man so I have to sit here till 4 and answer the phone saying "Sorry, I can't help you till Monday...our computer system is down for upgrade" while everyone else went home early! Is that the worst?

Yes it's crappy, 'cause you're getting bitched at all day, and there's no one else there to help alleviate the flack from people.

Find a way to make the day go by faster.....answer the phone differently everytime...maybe everyone can give you their own personal favorite on how to answer the phones.
Here's mine....
(insert company name) mortuary...you stab 'em....we'll slab 'em.

wow talk about crappy. oh well I'm sure it will be over soon. at least you don't have to hear, "are the checks there yet" all day. one of my co-worker is about to snap. just me and her till the checks get in. so i'm right there with you.

If I were you I'd say "Hello, *business name* no service is available right now besides me, all my co workers are in the closet playing 7 minutes in Heaven. Please call back in seven minutes." and keep doing that!!
