A woman... After a few weeks of crying and sharing her heartaches with friends and family..she's now ready to show to the whole world that she has moved on with a smile and a big heart to fall in love again. Women can love blindly and devotedly but when she realized that it's already enough.. you'll be surprised to know, that she can just get up on her knees and move on. Well, just try to listen the song "irreplaceable" by Beyonce. Guys will get the idea. lol <*-*>

It you define "dealing with it better" as meaning "processing the breakup in a healthier way" then I would say women win here. My observation is that usually a woman dealing with a breakup will go through the grief process in a straightforward manner. She'll cry, talk to her friends, figure out what went wrong, etc.... and then she'll move on. A man, however, will more often immediately look to get into a new relationship to make himself feel better. Or he'll run around and sleep with a bunch of women. Or whatever. So it looks from the outside like he's not upset--but really what he's done is run away from his feelings. I think this explains the phenomenon of men who try to return to their former relationships after several months only to find the woman is long gone. She's worked through it all while he has been busy avoiding his feelings. By the way, unlike other answerers, I do not think that the initiator of the breakup necessarily deals with it better. It's simply that the initiator has been thinking about the necessity of ending the relationship for a longer time, and thus is further along with the grief process. Also, to the extent that there are children involved, the person who leaves may actually have MORE to deal with, because of the guilt.

well, this is kind of a complex question, like it really depends on the situation and who left who. Then of coarse, guys think guys are better are girls think girls are better, except for the guys who have like a drudge or something on an ex, and they are better at leaving some one, and vise versa. But to be truthful and from what i've seen, if your in love and for no drastic reason there is a breakup, say nether one did anything to hurt the other, and the couple breaks up. I find that girls tend to move on WAY faster than guys do, and they don't seem to think much about their ex, if at all.

It all depends on the length and the health of the relationship. I think that either or can handle a break up. Maybe a guy can handle it better because women seem to be more emotional than a guy. Woman seem to cause more drama where guys tend to try to avoid any type of drama.

Depends. It is according to the particular man and the particular woman. There are men who after a breakup forgets the name of the girl the next day, and then there are men who would carry the girl's name to his grave, and would be the last word on his lips. There are also girls who would move on easily, and then there are those who also would never get over it, deep inside their hearts. I think women are better at not showing it, not because they are less hurt but because they are always made busy by chores.

I would think that most women are stronger. I've seen women go through the pain of a break up and move on.

As for men, I think when we really fall in love, Its hard for some of them to let go and then they may become violent.
I know of some cases where a man had killed his wife or girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.
Some men would go into a depression and start drinking heavy liquor. They will not take a shower, they will not shave. Their clothes will be dirty and wrinkled. The hair is not well groomed.
I do not think that you will see a woman go down in that manner.
Women are stronger.

Women are better equipped. I suppose they could discuss their situation without qualms with family or friends, and they would be up and running after a few days.

On the other hand, men generally consider breakups a blemish in their reputation, and talks about breakups are never up for discussion. They just couldn't handle it, I guess that was why beer and liquor were invented.

I have read several times, from several different writers and articles, that women are better equipped at hanlding breakups than men. This is partly due to the fact that women are more emotionally-outspoken, where men are reserved and have abigger tendency to hide and keep everything bottled in.

Here's a link to one such article:

I have to say it depends on the person and the situation.

Not the answer your looking for, but that is what I see.

Every guy on here says guys are better.
Every girl here says girls are better.

There has to be some flaw, don't ya think? People handle things differently. It depends on the person, not the gender.
