Both my friend and I have been called by 2 separate court shows who had pulled our files and requested that we go on their shows rather than through the courts where we filed.

The cases would not have gone to court any sooner this way and the time we would have needed to take off would have increased and besides that, neither of us wanted to be on TV anyhow.

I was wondering what were others thoughts on this, especially Judge Judy's court. I don't care what her profession is she is downright mean and unfair to those people on her show. Why on earth would anyone subject themselves to her when they don't have to?

actually judy isn't that bad to those who aren't completely stupid. she does seem to just assume that she knows the truth regardless and she might for all i know, lord knows she has the history. but most people who get yelled at just say and do stupid things and don't respect her. that's the only catch. if you get on her bad side, you'll get ruled against even if you're in the right.

why do it? you get to be on tv and you get an all expenses paid trip to wherever the show tapes.

in my opinion, the worst judge to agree to have arbitrate is maria lopez. she almost seems to have no regard for the law and just makes her decisions based on feelings which are usually so far off from reality.

If you look at the small print at the end of the show, you see that the people are actually receiving money to be on it. If the judge tells me I owe you $300, that would just come out of what the show was giving me, not out of my own money. That's why you never see settlements for large sums of money.

If you're a defendant and lose, you don't pay - the show does. That's plenty good incentive.

Also, if you're the plaintiff and win, you know you're gonna collect the money form the show. Winning a suit in real court does not guarantee you're ever gonna collect.
