Spontanious. I also find the people in movie who yell "Think of how much you have to live for!" kinda telling the person to jump becasue then the person thinks, i dont have anything to live for, thats why im up here

I think initially when they get up there, they just want attention and have no intention of jumping and then due to the type of attention they get or lack thereof, they go ahead and jump.
