The first Tarzan I saw was in the old black and white series,
starring Johnny Weizmueler. He'd been a noted swimming
champion and was picked for his swimming abilities and
physique and not much else at first. You'll note he wasn't much
of an actor. But he had star quality. His loin cloth was larger
and it did show he had on a short tight suit underneath on one
occasion I saw. In the comic strip way back when I was young
he also wore a loin cloth of course. He probably wore one
since many of the native tribes wore them also. From early
National Geographic magazine pictures, tribespeople had modesty in some form back then, and he learned to dress accordingly. And it did offer some protection from maybe nasty rope and tree limb burns.
But as a kid, no he didn't wear a nappy. All babies
like to run and play in the nude. Ever notice after bath time LOL? If anything, he made his own thatched covering long
before he had access to a real loin cloth. He just started out
with something primitive for the natives' sake, and then learned from the natives about upgrading to something longer
lasting later on as he developed.

RE:
Why did Tarzan wear a loin cloth?
And did those gorillas go out kill some animals, skin them and make a lion cloth nappy for him as an infant?
If he thought they were his family did he not wonder why they were always naked while he had the only loin cloth going?

'Cause Jane was already wearing the dress, there was nothing else left.
EDIT: Disney movie? This was a black & white, at least that's what came to mind when I thought of Tarzan. Disney didn't come out until decades later. Wow, you kids are young.

After snagging his tackle in the forest a few times I'm guessing he invented underpants.

Because if he didn't, the Disney movie would have had to be x-rated.
