i was just wondering if you were bitten by a vampire bat would you become a vampire, if it was possible i would definetly would like to try it. :) hehe

Unfortunately there are only two things you can become if bitten by a vampire bat, lunch or infected with rabies. Not that all vampire bats carry rabies, but it is common in small mammals and they have a higher exposure probability becasue they feed on anything that they can get to.

No one bitten by a vampire bat has become a vampire. They have gotten ill from diseases (such as rabies) that the bats carry.
Now, why is that Gilligan's Island episode where Gilligan gets bitten by a bat keep coming to mind...

No that's just a myth. Vampire bats live in Central and South America. They do feed on blood, but they won't attack a human and suck blood from the neck. There are 3 species of vampire bats, the Common, Harry legged, and the White-winged. The latter of the two eat the blood of exotic birds but are sometimes attracted two farmyard birds. The Common vampire feeds mainly on the blood of mammals.

Well I really don't think so. Vampire bat is the name that we give them because they remind us of the vampires we see in entertainment. However they don't actually carry the vampire virus. So if you get bit by one I think the most you can hope to catch from them is rabies.

as enjoyable as the idea sound...the unfortuneate answer is no. while vampire bats are real, they can't turn you into a vampire...they might give you rabies or some other disease....but not a vampire.... although..... assuming there are actually vampires living in the world (vampires not vampire bats) if one of them were to bite you then maybe...and assuming a vampire could turn into a bat then that vampire in bat form would most likely be able to turn you into a vampire....

you definitely cannot become a vampire by being bitten by a vampire bat. and you also cant turn into a vampire if bitten by a real vampire. sorry, its just the way it works.

No, but you might very well contact rabies. For which you'd have to be treated. And which would not be as much fun as being a vampire would.
