Nothing lasts forever. And personally, I would be disturbed at the idea of living forever, with no end ever. I'm also disturbed by the thought of dying, but I've gotten used to it. It just takes a while. Just block it off for now, and choose a week when you won't be around many people to try to get used to it, because at first you will be very, very depressed.

I dont think it is pointless... life is what you make it and i dont believe this is all there is. I think there has to be something out there like a spirit life when we die. even though i am not religous. I am pretty sure we dont all rely on anything apart from our feelings and wants and needs... like a sim if you think about it lol. (sorry) even if it was an accident it was a bloody good one. Thanks whoever created our big miricle!

Why would you want to live forever, isnt that greedy? our souls do live forever but in different states of being and probs a different place. Finding a different place when you die is part of embracing living forever... im not sure that made sense... sorry once again.

Everything has a shelf life even stone I beleive that the bible was written by aliens and that we were put here by aliens if you like we are well advanced robots just no metal involved.
sadness is when something happens that we dont like happiness is the opposite. However in the bible it says that we did live for hundreds of years but was reduced to about 100 as aliens thought that 500+ yrs lifespan was to long as the planet would be overrun to quickly. Scientists are working on changing the genetic code that ages us so that we can live longer and even working on storing our files in our brain so that our memories etc can live for ever only problem is you would have to be downloaded into a pc with legs or something like that maybe you could choose what you wanted to be like a ferrari or a fighter plane just hope sme human doesnt crash you

well the thought of living forever is nice but in reality i dont think any of us would hack it!

as to the meaning of life, life is what it is and what u make it, non of us have fathomed out why we r are here or what we are supposed ot do, a purpose etc etc, religion is summot we use like you say because we are scared and feel alone and what to make sense of it all..... which we dont as religion just makes it more difficult in my eyes (im not religious as you can tell)

if there is life after death i will find out when im dead, if not.... what the hell i am going through all this crap for (life) omg im gonna rip someones head off if there isnt summot better at the end of all this.... lol..... having said that, if there is summot whats that for? do we get to choose where we go, can we come back and be reborn if we dont wanna go to the spirit world, if not who gets to decide where we go! and why!

dont get me started...... anyways, who knows whats ahead, same as who knows what tomorrow brings..... just be patiant and time will tell. one thing thats certain from the second ur born is that at some point you will die! thats the meaning and only meaning to life, your born, you live, you die.

the meaning of life?????????????????????????? u tell me

It shows we are all a waste of skin..
no I'm just joking, it doesn't matter how long you live, it matters what you do with your 80 years of life or however long you will live... If everyone lived forever, we would just run out of space for all of those people..... In some folklore it says that when god created man, he gave the task of telling the humans that they could live forever to a cricket or some beast, but another being beat him to it and told the humans that they must die...... I don't know if my answer helped but whatever....

I wonder if you would really want to live forever!
We were meant to live forever but for the mistake our ancestors made in the garden of Eden.

If you have read the bible there were people who lived for 1000 years, were fathering children when they were 75Yrs. young, check it out.

Then when god saw that the world was populated well enough to sustain the earth, God in his wisdom decided that man will only live to the age of no more than 120 yrs.

Who says we need to believe what religions say and make meaning from there? We define our own lives and therefore construct our own meanings!

We do live forever -

Before we were born on the earth, we lived in the presence of our Heavenly Father as one of His spirit children. In this premortal existence, we attended a council with Heavenly Father's other spirit children. At that council, Heavenly Father presented His great plan.

In harmony with the plan, the premortal Jesus Christ covenanted to be the Savior. Those who followed Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were permitted to come to the earth to experience mortality and progress toward eternal life. Lucifer, another spirit son of God, rebelled against the plan and "sought to destroy the agency of man." He became Satan, and he and his followers were cast out of heaven and denied the privileges of receiving a physical body and experiencing mortality.

Throughout our premortal lives, we developed our identity and increased our spiritual capabilities. Blessed with the gift of agency, we made important decisions. These decisions affected our life then and now. We grew in intelligence and learned to love the truth, and we prepared to come to the earth, where we could continue to progress.

We are now experiencing mortal life. Our spirits are united with our bodies, giving us opportunities to grow and develop in ways that were not possible in premortal life. This part of our existence is a time of learning in which we can prove ourselves, choose to come unto Christ, and prepare to be worthy of eternal life.

When we die, our spirits will enter the spirit world and await the resurrection. At the time of the resurrection, our spirit and body will reunite, and we will be judged and received into a kingdom of glory. The glory we inherit will depend on our obedience to the Lord's commandments.

With that understanding, we find reassurance in the knowledge that we are children of God and that we lived in His presence before being born on the earth. We find meaning in our present life, knowing that our actions during mortality influence our eternal destiny. We can continually improve our relationships with family members.

Hope this helps you

Because as you get older your body deteriorates and it isn't made to last that long. That's why birthdays are kind of creepy, you are just getting closer to the end of your life...
