6% is the same thing as 6/100 which is the same thing as .06

just multiply the amount owed by .06 to find the rent cost

lets say it originally costs 2000 dollars
.06 x $2000 = $120

The question is 6% of what?
As an example , assume it is 6% of $120
(6 / 100) x $ 120
= 6 x $ 12 / 10
= $ 72 / 10
= $ 7. 20

6% = .06, so multiply by .06. But if someelse is paying 6% then there's 94% left, and this = .94. You really didn't ask a complete question.
