Does this movie actually look scary? or is it another tease horror that will steal my money?

...let's put it this way; last May, at the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in Burbank, CA, I had the pleasure of meeting with the "Hatchet" director, Adam Green; he was very passionate and acidically expletive about his film, and how it reflects the raw and viceral feel and attitude of the classic old-school atmospheric slasher/horror films of the late '70s' and early '80's, without being an out-and-out carbon copy of them; he was also quite unabashedly critical about the present and future direction of horror films, pointing out, and quite literally spitting at the present slate of so-called 'horror/torture' film, which most people by now can agree, are NOT horror films at all...merely SHOCK films...
Actor and stuntman Kane Hodder, who was also at the preceedings, also expressed his delight and enthusiasm of introducing a highly potential horror icon, in his performance of the wilderbeast psychopath, Victor Crowley, even citing the possibility that this character might even reach the iconic heights of that other horror icon he is best known for, namely Jason Voohees...
After the Q&A, they projected a 6-to-7 minute clip of the film, and I really have to tell you, if this clip is even a small measure of indication, we're talking no punches pulled, and no holds barred here; from what I saw, this potentially influential horror 'fright' film might just cause a definate resurgence in the edge-of-your-seat, heart-attack-inducing 'scare' factor in the modern horror film, once again...and I gotta say, "It's about @#$%ing time!!!"
...in fact, apparently, so confident are the producers of "Hatchet", that this film will quite literally be a 'monster' hit, based on a handful of riotously successful advance previews, that they unofficially announced that a follow-up to "Hatchet" was to go into pre-production, before the end of the year...
....anyways, walking away from the Q&A, I gotta say that I was thoroughly convinced, after being initially quite skeptical; I guess we'll all see for sure, coming up in September...

who knows there hoping its another big bugdet slasher movies (like saws jason etc)
i just hope its scarey
