I recently graduated college and started working in the 'real world'. I work at a staffing company and I interview people all day. I am in constant fear that someone is going to say "Wait a minute! You're just a kid, why am I listening to you?" (I'm 22 by the way)

Does anyone else ever feel this way?

Do I worry? No. It is a waste of time and energies.
I never had the problem you are describing, mainly because at that age I was in the Army.
However, my son earned a B.S. in computer science (including programming, M.I.S. and a bunch of others, a minor in psychology) then went to work for the public library. He is now part of the staff; all others are much older than he and have not only degrees in library science but are much older.
My advice: if you can hack it and people know it, they (with a few possible exceptions of one of THOSE TYPES) will realize it and age will not be a factor.

Your employer obviously has taken that into consideration and deemed it not to be a problem. They have confidence in you or you would not have gotten the position. You will grow in experience and feel more confident in what you do, who you are, and how you fit in. The people whom you are interviewing probably make no such judgment of you as their goal should be, and probably is, to make such an impression upon you that would cause you the remember them in a positive way. By some standards you are "just a kid," but by your own, you should be a young professional. Which, I am sure, is what you are. Don't place limits upon your self with your own complexes.

When I worked as a teacher in a private tuition centre, one student adressed me Sir...I looked behind see whether someone else is standing behind me.

I worked with Many institutions as Executive in similar responsibilities like you I felt the same thing. I thought I am not the proper person to do this! Yesterday I was told to question one candidate who submitted contradictory documents. I feel, I lost all the intention of my manager and still wonder whether i was right or wrong!

I think we should find out all the potentials in us and age is not all a bar for that! Even the Chairman of my company is younger than me, then why should I worry about the candidates elder than me???

I am 22 and I have had people older than I tell me that. Just remember what side of the desk you are sitting on; (I know that sounds snobbish) you know what it takes to get a job in today's market. So yes, you will get cr** from people that walk into your office and ask for a job, get your critique and then tell you to shove it because you are only 22; just take that with a smile and send them on their way with the materials they need to get the job. At least, this is what I would do.

You seem to be very intelligent and I don't think you have anything to worry about. Jobs are in demand and the people that you interview are probably more interested in getting the job than your age.
