A little over a month ago I used UPS to ship a package well some how they lost it and I filed a claim and should proof of the cost to replace it was a $250.00 12' subwoofer being returned to be replaced well UPS called yesterday and said we can only give u $100.00 for the item because it was not insured can they really do this they lost the package not me why must I pay for thier mistake is thier anything I can do?

Hard to say. No offense, but it should have been insured. It may not even be UPS's problem. They could have delivered the item and the company may have been the one to lose the package. Contact a lawyer, and see what they say. Hoever, if you get a lawyer, you'll have to pay him, so are you ahead or not? I ordered a whole computer system that was shipped via UPS. It was stolen off their docks, so they replaced the whole thing, however it was insured. good luck but you may have to pay on this one.

You will only get the declared value of the clothes. The contract with them limits their liability. You could sue your friend...
