I'm actually writing a college essay on sleeping and its effects on aging. I wanted an opinion from users, not their attitude and rudeness.

absolutely.

time continues to go by. The earth revolves around the sun, thus you age.

if you are talking physical, not calender. then the answer is yes. your body is still alive and functioning, thus you are still aging.

and your physical condition would deteriorate the more you slept due to inactivity.

Of course they do. However, I believe that the effects of aging are probably reduced by maintaining a healthy sleep habit.

If I understand you correctly, you are asking for a survey. My opinion is that we do age when sleeping. I would support this by stating that people in comas still age, even though they are "asleep" for years.

As age is a measurement of time, and time doesn't stop while I'm sleeping (that I'm aware of), I'm going to have to go with a big YES, to answer your question.

Its breathing what makes us age! the oxigen we breathe rusts our body in some way. we age slowlier while sleeping because we need less oxigen.
