If it is a PDF document then you have to open it in adobe acrobat

It is probably because you are not opening the documents in the right format it is supposed to be looked at. If it is a PDF document then you have to open it in adobe acrobat.

May be the document used character encoding your pc doesn't support.

probably opened it in the wrong program or could be corrupted. whats the file type ( last 3 letters such as .doc ) ?and what program does it open it?
