He's not trying to emulate Jordan's moves, but he's doing a pretty good job of outplaying most of his opponents, like Jordan did. Kobe can't quite bring a mediocre team to the NBA Finals like Jordan did at Chicago.

Kobe doesn't and shouldn't try to "be like Mike". He's creating his own legacy, and is his own man.
As for who's better, Jordan was/ is. He was easily the better defensive player. Bryant's offensive game is as good as anyone's but on defense he's merely excellent. Plus, while Bryant is a competitive type, Jordan's competitive streak is beyond legendary. This is a guy who'd cheat to win a friendly card game against his own grandma, and I mean that in the best possible way. MJ would take over games on both ends of the court and do whatever it took to win in close games.
While I think MJ is often thought of as a corporate icon more then anything, think about the best players to have never won an NBA title. It seems like half of them (Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Ewing, Drexler*, Payton*, Kemp, etc) failed to do so thanks to #23. We're talking about some of the best players of all time, most of whom probably would've won it all in their primes had Jordan not monopolized the whole "winning" thing for most of a decade, only giving Olajuwon a chance because he wanted to try being a baseball player.
* Drexler and Payton each did win a title, but only as a role player at the end of their respective careers, and only during a Jordan retirement.

Jordan was great in his day and Bryant is great now, and I believe Kobe is trying to do everything he can to leave his mark on the game just like Jordan did. I don't understand what you mean or the point you are trying to get to but Kobe is his own man trying to play the game his way.

No one would ever seriously wonder if Kobe was or is the best player ever. Please. It won't happen.
Unless you can have a serious discussion about THIS question, there is no point in wondering whether Kobe is better than Michael. Ask yourself - is Kobe in the top ten players of all time? Maybe. Maybe not. I'd take Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Moses Malone, Karl Malone, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Oscar Robertson, maybe even Shaq all over Kobe, and that's just off the top of my head. And in the games greatest era ever, one player rose above all of those guys and everyone else. Is Kobe even the best player playing today?
Kobe would have a tough time making the top ten, let alone being better than Jordan. Anyone who has actually seen both of them would never even wonder about this question.

I had this discussion last night at the courts.. First off, Kobe is not Michael, definitely far from it. Its his mental approach towards the entire game. Michael had an intensity mentally and physically towards both sides of the game. Michael made crucial steals during crucial plays, and then would score on the other end. Kobe is a dynamic scorer, but he doesnt make his teammates any better, and doesnt have the cut throat mentality that you need to really dominate when its time to push your team to the next level. Mike is Mike, so let 23 have his legacy, and stop putting kobe in the same breath as him because there are similarities. There are similarities with any and every player who has ever graced an NBA floor.

I like jordan as well. However, you can't really say one is better than the other they come from different eras. Jordans competitors and kobes are different. Greatness is built on the shoulders of the greatness from before. Without wilt chamerblain and Dominque Wilkins there would be no Jordan. Without Jordan there would be no Kobe Bryant.

Kobe's awesome. His fadeaway is unprecedented. Look at all the times he dances all over a triple team, jumps past the baseline, chucks up the ball, and it's a perfect swish. There have been countless games over the last 3 seasons where the Lakers were down by 15 at halftime and Kobe scored 50 points and they won.
I never saw MJ play. I was three years old when he won his last title. But I have seen videos, and it seems like he and Kobe are the exacty same players. But the main difference is that MJ did it first. He had no one to base his game off of.
Kobe may be skillwise equal to MJ, but his leadership will always be questioned by many, and he's too controversial to be considered the best ever.
