How much will it cost, what does the well look like because it wasnt seen during the home inspection, is it a code violation to have one in your home, etc?

gio to a masonery supply that sells to the public a buy a well cover. you may want to measure the opening first. thenbuy a bag of mortor mix cement and cement it down. Are you connected to town water or is this well your source?If it is your source do not cement it down. As far as being in violation I would have to say it isn't because of where it is. now if you have any questions as to its lagality you should call the water dept. of your town or city then take the necessary moves to make yourself legal or do nothing.

drummer had a good idea, but instead of using mortar mix get regular cement mix, motar will crumble with age
