This is a serious question and it has nothing to do with LIBS/CONS (believe me I have been reported by both of you guys). I get violation notices for responding to very abrasive questions where the questioner is not, in any way, trying to understand another person's viewpoint... Sometimes I get sarcastic but never in any way do I use offensive language... the worst that I did was type out "YAWN" to a question and asked the questioner to define the term he was discussing (this was reported and I got a violatiion notice... that was it).

Does Yahoo automatically send out violation notices without even seeing the answer (and question) reported by average users? It seems that way but I don't know because when I asked Yahoo I never got a response.

I wish that I didnt have to put this question here but Yahoo has never responded. I am not whining, I am just really curious and am wondering if other people actually know the answer to this... or if they are as baffled as me.

Yes, they sometimes do overturn violations. I've had some overturned. Generally, responding to them via email will get you little or no results. Unfortunately, I've had to resort to that since there is a person who checks that forum apparently on a daily basis from this forum and always adds his two cents. Some people simply can't deal with opposing opinions.

Copy and paste your violation to this forum and you'll generally get a response.

No they don't to my knowledge. People use the forum as a weapon. If the worse thing that happens to me today is that I get a violation notice from Yahoo, I will consider it a very good day. I wear my violation notices as a badge of honor, because I could care less whether they agree with me or not. The bottom line is, it is a public forum, and that will draw all kinds of individuals, good and bad, from around the world. They can be anyone that they want to be with impunity, so take it as a grain of salt, and don't put too much store in the fact that certain individuals get some sort of joy out of silencing their critics.

They at the instant instituted a coverage the place "relied on" individuals of the community can record issues. As close to as i will tell, what meaning is the mods do no longer even subject to study the question or answer - they simply delete it. I even have at the instant had a question restored, in spite of the actuality that i ended up sending the on an primary basis e-mails that somebody above suggested besides as posting on the violation appeals board and fairly plenty making a royal nuisance of myself. I had a question deleted the day in the past in the present day, and that i'm unlikely to subject with it. So - confident, you will get issues restored, and the factors come back with it. they gained't, even with the incontrovertible fact that, ever EVER inform you why it grow to be deleted interior the 1st place, and it may desire to no longer be properly worth your subject.

i've gotten notices like that. like after the VT shooting someone asked, "WHAT GIVES PEOPLE THE RIGHT TO CARRY GUNS?" something to that affect, and i said "the 2nd amendment". i got a violation notice. i just replay back and say that it was not a violation, etc... i still get those when i post responses to question i know the asker wasn't looking for. like is someone asks "BUSH SUCKS! WHAT DO YOU THINK?" and i say "he's not that bad." I usually get violation notices for those kind of responses.

btw, the only time i report people is when i see racist comments or vulgar language.

I don't remember the circumstances, but Yahoo has in fact, once, given me back the penalty points that they took away when I complained to them that I did not violate the rules.

Try the link I'll leave you. It's where I have gotten most of my points back after people reported me just because they didn't like my answer.
