We all know that the congress almost unamiously voted for the war in Iraq and we all know that everyone in government was telling us the WMD story for years before Bush was in office so it doesn't seem right to me to blame him 100% for the war. I'm hard pressed to see anything else he has done poorly. I mean the economy is doing very well, we haven't been attacked on US soil since 9/11 and our schools are showing marked improvement. I just don't understand why people hate this guy. Yesterday I asked a similiar question and all I got was a bunch of nut cases talking about foolish things like "he was behind 9/11" or "he went AWOL 50 years ago" or "he is spying on us" (as if anyone calling over seas EVER had an expectation of privacy or as if congress hasn't repreatedly approved of these programs and indeed CREATED the patriot act) So if you have a lagitimate grip about the guy not wild interenet theories I like to hear about it.

Just for the record I consider "stealing the 200 election" the biggest darn fool conspricy yet. The darn thing has been recounted a bazillion times by independents and EACH time GWB came out the winner.

Oh and the New Orleans deal is another joke. That was a failure of the local Democratic government mainly. What did people want Bush to do? Jump in a State run national guard helicopter and start pulling people out of the water?

Oh and please don't whine to me how much the teachers hate no child left behind. That was expected! Prior to this they had free reign, no they have to prove themselves just like the rest of us do.

Hmmmm.....howz about allowing an American city to DIE, for starters??? New Orleans, remember that fiasco? Bush did NOTHING to help those people.
Then, add in a myriad of budget cuts which have led to the decaying of the American infrastructure (the highway bridge that recently collapsed!)
The USA is becoming a third world country, because people don't want to PAY (that would be taxes) to support their own nation's infrastructure and well being. And that negligence and wanton disrespect for the people comes from the very top down, i.e., from Generalissimo Bush.
OH...and now the USA officially tortures people! BRAVO BUSH! Everyone should be so proud of this Prez and his "accomplishments." HAHAHAHAHA!

edit: you think NO was a joke??? suppose Georgetown was leveled by a hurricane, think Shrub would get his bony a.s.s. there, stat? of course- and WHY? Cuz there are rich, white DONORS/LOBBYISTS who live there. BTW, LBJ after Huricane Betsy slammed into NO in the 1960's, went INTO THE CROWD, in the flood, the first night telling the people "your President is here to help."
That's leadership! What was GW supposed to do you say? He's the Prez! He's supposed to lead the nation in times of distress!!!! Leadership is not surveying the situation from above, not sending help for THREE DAYS and "doing a heckuva job Brownie!" Bush is just a freakin' INEPT MORON w/no intellect and leadership abilities. And oh yeah, reading 'My Pet Goat' for SEVEN minutes, while told the nation was under attack, is also NOT a sign of a leader-it's a sign of a dunce!

For starters congress did not vote to invade Iraq, following 9-11 congress voted to give bush the authority to invade the country responsible to ensure quick action. He abuse this power to invade Iraq.

Firstly the invasion or Iraq was due to weapons of mass destruction that were not found, this story quickly changed to an al Qaida-Iraq link, which finally settle into liberation of the Iraqi people. Great so now we have in ineffective Iraqi government overseeing a nation in the midst of a civil war, with our troops caught in the middle. This is not an idea situation.

Secondly the economy is terrible. The Bottom fell out of t the housing market which caused all sorts of credit calls, so now you see a decrease in the stock market. Eventually you are going to start seeing an even greater increase in bankruptcies. The USA also currently has one of the highest unemployment rates in over 50 years, which if the stock market suffers anymore will increase.

The USA has a literacy level less than every other industrialized nation, bragging about the fine job the school systems are doing at this point is a little premature as they are still pumping out illiterate kids.

These are not wild Internet theories, this is the reality and if you still think the state of the USA is top notch you should really re-evaluate your standards and expectations.

You asked what has he done wrong?
His blatent lack of accountability to the poeple is offensive enough. This is without going into the variable trusth extensions, climate of secrecy, or abhorant foriegn policy that almost resarted the cold war, his inability or unwillingness to actually pursure those resonsible for 9/11.......

Besides the bunch of good reasons I have seen other people post and the ones you claim are conspiracy which I think have some ring of truth o them. How about keeping an obviously incompetent Donald Rumsfeld on as long as he did as well as currently keeping an Attorney General that is either incompetent or a liar or combination of the two in Al Gonzales. Lets not even get started on Cheney.

the economy is doing very well? check the finance section. anyway i think the President has little to do with the economy.

Bush failed to be a leader after Hurricane Katrina. Appointing unqualified people to critical positions because they are loyal Bushies is terrible leadership. See "FEMA".

No Child Left Behind lowers standards. Sure test scores are higher but much less learning is actually going on, just ask any teacher. We have retarded kids held to the same standards as the gifted ones.

Clear Skies Act completely deregulated pollution standards leaving it voluntary to dirty industry how to control their own pollution.

ENRON- the late crooked CEO Ken Lay was close friends with the Bush family and he and Dick Cheney wrote the energy policy together behnid closed doors. Millions of Enron customers in California suffered black outs.

And why does he think finding Osama bin Laden isn't important? Is it because there is no evidence linking bin Laden to 9-11 and the Bush family and bin Laden family are business associates? Maybe. Not a wild theory, it's a fact.

The list goes on and on. He's such a terrible leader it's maddening sometimes.

Where to start:
Killing off Stem Cell Research funding.
Actually advocating a constitutional amendment to deny rights to American citizens.
Willingly breaking the law to conduct surveillance, even when he could have conducted that surveillance within the law as it was.
Flying home from Texas to sign the Teri Schaivo Bill (an unconstitutional Ex Post Facto, bill of attainder that violated the separation of powers) while having signed over 100 death warrants as governor of Texas.
Increasing the federal debt by 50% in just 6 years when before he took office it was decreasing.

He lied to the American people when he said that Saddam wouldn't let UN inspectors in. I believe it was a few days before the war started when he said this, you can go to the White House website. The UN inpectors had been there for about 4 months.

No Child Left Behind is a disaster and desperately needs to be revamped or dumped altogether.

He supported trying to add discrimination to our Constitution.

He has left our borders and ports porous and vulnerable. He tried to sell a contract to protect our ports to the freaking Arabs for crying out loud. Please.

He supports giving amnesty to illegals.

Forget who voted for the resolution, he has horribly mismanaged the war he decided to wage and sent our military there without the proper equipment and without any plan for the peace or for the aftermath. He declared himself The Decider, and after he decided to go to war with Iraq he became the one responsible for the outcome. That hasn't worked out real well for him. But he's The Decider, so he can take the responsibility he claimed as his alone and live with the fallout.

He's alienated our Allies and made the U.S. hated around the world with his incompetence in Iraq.

He's made no effort to be the leader he should be in rebuilding New Orleans. When a disaster is that large, any decent President would be more involved with its restoration.

His picks for key positions - head of World Bank, Attorney General, Rumsfeld - all turned out to be either disasters or incompetent at their jobs. I know there's more than those three but I'm only on my first cup of coffee.

Geez, that's enough for now. I'm sure others will post things I have forgotten, there's so much to remember.

My two favorites:

- severely degrading Constitutional rights - holding U.S. citizens without trial, warrantless wiretaps, etc.

- policies that have a horrible effect on the environment (besides global warming)
