I've heard that it's fairly easy to find some free parking within a reasonable walking distance of the Oakland Coliseum for an Athletics game. Is this true?

If so, are the neighborhoods relatively safe near there, or are there a lot of car break-ins?

Thanks!

As was mentioned bart is free and safe. I wouldn't park on the street in that area, especially at night.

But why not take bart to the game and avoid all the traffic?

To make sure that you get parking at the BART station, get there before about 10:30. After 11 is pushing it. And the games start at 1:15 p.m., not a.m. Another alternative is driving to another BART station like Fremont or Pleasanton, and ride the train to the stadium, so you don't get stuck in traffic on the way home.

I would park at BART also. Many fans park there so it is relatively safe to walk across the ramp to the coliseum. Make sure your car is locked and valuables aren't visible.

.Yes, your best bet is to park at the coliseum Bart station and walk across the ramp

the area around the stadium is really not that great, and not particularly safe. i usually take bart in from the east bay.

that is the best way to get to a's games. it won't cost you more than like $6.00 round trip from most places in the bay area.

Just piling on here--take BART. Less hassle, less worry about your car, cheaper.
