i jus recently bought an xbox 360 elite. i want xbox live. do i hook it up to the computer while its hooked up to the tv. or what.
take me through the step by step detailed process

The 360 has a standard network connection built into it, and should come with a 10 or so foot network cable. Connect this to a router or similar network device that is connected to your ineternet connection. If you don't have a router your options are:
1) Buy one. You can get half decent ones fairly cheap now.
2) Unplug your computer from the internet when you want to use xbox live and connect your xbox straight to your cable/dsl modem.

you have to plug it into your modem. don't forget to reset the modem becuase it'll think it's set up for the computer still. if you want, you can set up your account on xbox.com first.

well you have to sign up. then you need to plug it in to your modem... . then modem to comp.
