Easy one to answer. Electric rates are lower at night and early in the morning. Peek electric hours (8am to 8 pm) can cost almost double.

there is no difference when it comes to cleaning your clothes. The only reason to reason to wash at night or early in the morning is a matter of energy conservation. Most ernergy is consumed during certain peak hours. If you run high energy use appliances during non peak times it is better for the community.
So if running in the morning or night fitsinto your schedule by all means do it. If not, then your clothes will still be clean.

There would be only two reasons to pick a specific time of day to do laundry:

Weekends would be cheaper cost for utilities (peak times are M-F during business hours)

Morning or evening would depend if you have laundry on your main living level. My w & d is on my main living level and the dryer really heats up the area, so I try to only run it at night in the Summer.

Otherwise, it doesn't really matter when you do laundry. Do it when time permits!

The only reason I can think of is that there might be less water usage at that time of day.
