It's not a real problem. When the oil has gone the plan is to bring in Methane fueled vehicles. The downside is that Methane is highly volatile but the upside is, if you run out of fuel you can alway fart in the tank to get you to the next garage LOL

I have a 2002 accord (completely stock) which gets less than 30 mpg....should I sell it and get something better? Is this wasting the worlds gas? Big SUV daily drivers are the types of vehicles people should be concerned with.

Do a little research....I bet the average MPG of cars on the road isnt as high as you believe. Not everybody can afford to get a new car every year. What about the people who need gas hogging vehicles? Do they make a pickup truck that is environmentally friendly that can haul a significant amount while getting 30 MPG? I understand this is a number you may have thrown out there...and it is a realistic goal for automakers to achieve when making new vehicles. Until all the gas robbing vehicles are out of service there is no solution except keep your cars in good condition, tires, avoiding excess speeds, walk, carpool.........

At the end of the day what comes around goes around, when the oil runs out they'll HAVE to diversify their energy supplies. They might as well finish off the oil, and the Hummers will just make the running out doomsday sooner!!!

that's the best way to ask a question ,be strait forward with it,your right we are wasting gas ever day,but since its our primary form of transportation for now, there's no other choice, sooner or later we will have to find another source, for now the oil company,s don't want another source of energy ,greed has got them caught up in the money game,so there going to keep technology down to a limit until they have to come out with something else, and probably it will be one of the major oil company's that comes out with the alternative fuel also,so either way you look at it their the ones getting rich and we the consumers, are helping them get there, good luck .

They should be ashamed. But The sooner we use it up. then the sooner they will come out with hydrogen powered cars and electric ones and solar cars. and maybe they will let me have a horse in the city again.like they used to!!maybe even having horse only lanes of traffic.and more people will walk and ride bikes.
