Getting embarrassed in front of a large crowd of people you do not know personally, but see regularly (such as classmates, coworkers, neighbors)…
OR
Getting embarrassed in front of someone – just one person – you really like, (such as a crush, boy/girl-friend, or someone you admire)…
For me this is a tough question because I was *at first* going to say it is more embarrassing for someone I really liked. Imagine trying to go out with your crush or flirt after s/he saw you do something really embarrassing. But then again, can you image having to work at a job or go to school everyday and like all your classmates, coworkers, or whoever saw you do something really embarrassing! 0_0 LOL!
So I really do not know…

Yeah, that is tough. But I think I'd go with the personal embarassment being worse. I mean, I do not care what people think of me, and especially a bloke, but for some reason I just know the humility of the situation would hit ten thousand times harder if it was with someone I knew well. So I'd try to avoid that, and at least with public humiliation, you might be about to play it off, because thye have not a slightest clue who you are. Hope that is helpful and not confusing. Cheers!

I would have to say public because if you do something embarrassing in front of just one person who knows you, it's much easier just to laugh it off.

Probably more embarrassing is public. Lots more people to laugh at me and point. If I fart in the privacy of my home and only one or two people witness it it's just funny.

public, because if it is a close person then they'll understand if you embarras yourself...while other people who you do not know you as well, will not understand and just make fun. it's like doing something stupid in front of your boyfriend....he'll just laugh.
