Well, you do only have two options either replace the cable entirely or try to fix what you have.

You will probably need to cut the wire cleanly with some wire cutters and there may be a tool used to crimp the wire back into the ending fastener.

Here's a link to a high-tech cable stripper.

The cable is called COAxial (Co Ax cable). Again, I'd consult an expert at your local hardware store. You are probably goign to have to make a small purchase to replace this anyways.

Good Luck

If there's enough cable in the wall mount box (3-4 inches), you can get two pin ends and a connector at a store like Radio Shack, Future Shop, or The Source by Circuit City. You will also need a sharp utility knife. Explain to the clerk what you want to do, and he will tell you how to prepare the two cable ends and how to securely attach the pin ends. If there's less than 3 inches of cable in the wall box, you might still be able to do it, but it will be awkward. By the way, you can remove the wall box cover without any risk of electrical shock.

Have your cable company send someone out to fix the cable.

These require a special fitting, and some knowledge of how to make the connection correctly.
You could buy a connector at Radio Shack, but you STILL need to know HOW to make the connection correctly.

If you do it incorrectly, you could be responsible for any damage caused to the cable company's equipment, and that can be EXPENSIVE!
