I know that Yankees was first team to have the numbers on their uniforms. Now I wonder I want to know which team was first team to have the names on their uniforms. The teams began have thier names and numbers on their uniforms since post WW2.

San Diego Charges in the old days of the American Football League. This was done so when on TV the people at home could id the players. This is the truth first team ever, then the others began to follow

Back in the 1960s the AFl would do anything to get fans. So to make it easy on the TV fans was an instant success.
