this is dealing with percent of increase
so do (39500-23500)/23500
16000/23500
which is 68% increase
(48400-29600)/29600
18800/29600
which is about 64% increase

1. Divide 16,000 (the difference of the two numbers) by 23,500. The answer is 0.68...
2. Move the decimal point over twice so that 0.68 is 68%.
(By this, I mean that 0.68/1 has to be multiplied by 100. 0.68 times 100=68.)

SECOND PROBLEM:
1.Subtract 29,600 from 48,400. Your difference is 18,800. 2.Put 18,800 as the numerator in a fraction, and put 29,600 as the denominator. (18,800/29,600). The answer is 0.6535...
3. Move the decimal point. (Or, if you prefer to think of it this way, MULTIPLY 0.6535 by 100).
SOLUTION: 65.35%
NOTE: On the first one, I cut off the decimal at the second place value (hundredths). Most math teachers like you to do this. However, I did the second problem in extended form, so you could see how to do both.

First get the diferrece of the actual numbers.
Then divide the difference by the lowest number (like 23,500) and multiply the quotent with 100.You wil get the answers.And the answers are following-

2)63.51351

or you can do 39,500/23,500 which gives you 1.680851. Multiply by 100 and subtract 100 and you get 68.0851 percent.

If I got you right,it's 68.08 percent.Next one is 63,51 percent.Take first one.39500 minus23500 equals 16000Now,we divide 16000 by 23500 and then multiply with 100.Aim is to find out that with 23500 as a base,in what percentage form is 39500 more than it.

= 16000
39500 is more than 23500 by 16000
Percent means per 100
So (16000/23500)(100) = 68.08
So 39500 is more than 23500 by 68.08%
