Well... the creation of a book is variable...

Some people think up ideas, draw up an outline and write the book following the outline...

Others might just write write write every day in a notebook for a couple of hours, whatever they can think of, and sometimes a story starts to take shape, and you write as you go along without an outline, seeing where it leads...

WIthout any reputation, it is unlikely you will get a novel published.

You coukd start by trying to get short stories... if you get a few of them printed you might be able to get an agent...

An agent can help you sell book ideas...

Sometimes, if you have a good agent, you can write a couple of chapters and an outline and the agent can pre-sell the book to a publisher...

What else do you want to know?

Tip #1

Write the book first. Make sure it's something you wrote because you love it, not because you're writing for the public.

Tip #2

Edit extensively. Make sure the manuscript is perfect.

Tip#3

Don't worry about anything else until that is done.

Ok, this isn't the steps to writing a book, but a few days ago I asked what makes a good book good. There aren't many answers but maybe you can use them while you're writing :)
