Do you guys think he has a legitimate shot at being the cy young award winner? I mean Haren, Sabathia, and Beckett look ahead of him, but I think it's possible, I would vote for him.

absolutely. When you pitch great, you pitch great. Carmona has done just that. If i had to pick the 2 finalists (to me), it'd be Fausto and Dan Haren. It's tough not to give it to Haren, who's having a spectacular season for the inury - filled A's. But Carmona, and his sidekick (or vise versa) in C.C. Sabathia, who i have, with Josh Becket and a few others, looking in from the outside here.
Finally, i'd have to go with Dan Haren, with Fausto Carmona in a close second.
brief overview of stats:

D.Haren - REC 13-4 | SV 0 | ERA 2.54 | WHIP 1.13

F.Carmona - REC 14-7 | SV 0 | ERA 3.16 | WHIP 1.24

He has a one in a million chance of winning the cy young and I don't think that he'll be in the running he's been solid this year but I also think as I hate too say this there are two Angels pitchers that deserve it over him John Lackey and Kelvim Escobar both have had great years as much as I hate the Angels I don't think Fausto Carmona has a chance unless all the guys Haren, Beckett, Escobar, Lackey, Santana, etc.... get injured all in a row so no Carmona has a better chance of being struck by lightning or attacked by a shark then too win the Cy Young this year.

Although he is playing for the tough Cleveland Indians team that is in a gun fight with Detriot for the playoffs and the AL Central crown, I think that he will be overlooked by the likes of Sabathia, Beckett and the other pitcher from L.A. he is a young pitcher that if he stays healthy, WILL win a cy young.

He doesn't because C.C. will also drain votes from him. He should be comeback player of the year....it was painful to watch him in the closer's role late last year - he got lit up virtually every time out. This year, he would never have been in the starting rotation without the injuries to Westbrook and Lee & he still seemed ticketed to Buffalo even after his initial half-dozen quality starts.

Management finally is sold on him, and he will get votes for the award, but will probably finish a distant 4th or 5th in the balloting.

Yes he does. He has better stats then almost anyone. I don't think he will win it but he deserves to get recognition. Sabathia would probably win it before him because he is still a bigger name.

no. Becket or Lackey will win it. unless carmona can pitch 27 strike out perfect games more than twice will they even consider it.
