No, because when that is done, one person benefits a lot more than the masses.

Truth, I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Every study I've ever heard of has shown that when public funds are used for stadiums (stadia? Whatever), the city does not reap the benefits that were claimed when the bond issues were presented. The team owner benefits greatly by getting the nearly billion dollar stadium built at a greatly reduced cost to himself. There are also usually sweetheart deals attached in terms of revenues generated and rents charged. Yes, people can be said to benefit because they get to keep their teams, but the measurable economic benefits all accrue to one person. That isn't a very difficult concept, is it?

Usually if the city builds a stadium it is built with a bond issue voted on by the citizens...democracy (if not sanity) at work.

YES

NO WELFARE INCLUDING CORPORATE WELFARE!

Stiggo doesn't seem to grasp that a "benefit" is subjetive, thus the only person who should get to determine whether something benefits you is you. ALL collectivists think they're "benefiting" you by spending your money on something they think you should have but you might not have chosen for yourself.
