Sorry Old man,
Money is both happiness and unhappiness. There is no one answer.
Money is a key to many things that you can get for pleasure, and pleasure makes you happy.
Money doesn't always make you happy. Just like "feelings" does't always make you happy.
Money cannot buy love though. That's for sure. Love is pure and real. More expensive than money. It's actually not worth any money. It's worth for a love in return. Love makes you happy. And so does money.
Just be careful with what you buy and your financial records. If you spend too much money and are dangerously close to being penniless, than money will turn vicious and make you unhappy. Money is hard work to earn. And working for money isn't always going to make you happy. Just be sure to have enough money to buy pleasure. Perhaps...go to Disneyworld. That'd be worth being happy.

Imagine the person you love the most in this world dying (sorry, a bit morbid), but your financial status will not do anything to make you happy while you properly grieve.
Also, imagine dating (if you're not married) and women knowing you are rich. A LOT of women will get with a guy just because of his money....now imagine you marry this woman and are head over heels for her. She turns into a royal ***** because all she was after was your money in the first place. Now you are married to a ***** and if you divorce her....she gets HALF!!!

Money probably gives you a step closer to happiness, but it doesn't actually give the genuine, longtime feeling of it. Especially if you're going to depend on it to make you happy for the rest of your life.

No! That is a stupid saying.
"Money may not buy happiness but I bet I could have a key made". Joan Rivers
I saw someone else on answers quote this and thought it was perfect.

Money can't buy true feelings. Money can't buy those moments where you are completely in love. Moeny cannot buy a bond between two people. Money cannot buy self-esteem, money cannot buy anger, sadness, happiness.
