I thought it was the illusionist so bought that but after watching it realised it wasnt although it was similar. it was on the cinema not too long ago, i saw the previews, about 2 magicians competing against each oher but one of the magicians really is magic!!

...you're referring to the 2006 film, "The Prestige"; I can relate, as I got these films confused with each other, myself...
...both films equally good, though!!!
