(Are those zwinky things online a scam?)?

Some of my friends say its ok but i dont want to download it and it to attack my computer. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Yes. Zwinky is considered spyware. Good of you to look before you leap. I think you'll find that a lot of those sites relating to free smilies, avatars etc are almost always hiding some sort of malware.
