To the best of my knowledge, a working person is eligible to study CA. There is a provision though for Articleship in CA, whereby a student has to work as an Article Clerk with a firm of Chartered Accountant(s) for a certain period and submit a certificate of completion from that firm to the CA Institute. The CA Institute issues a Certificate of Practice to a person who has not only passed all the CA examination papers but also successfully completed his articleship. I'm not sure as to which stage of his CA studies a student has to complete this formality. It is extremely important that you obtain clear information on this matter prior to your interview, as you have to complete Articleship in order to become a practising CA. Your job as an Article Clerk should not impinge on your job at the bank, should you be finally selected for the latter.
But other than that, I don't think that there is any bar on any person to pursue CA while working in a bank or anywhere else.
Thus in taking up a job at a bank you are not sacrificing your dream to become a CA. You can pursue both at the same time. Hands on experience in working in a financial institution (bank) will only help you to understand the different aspects of CA more clearly and from a practical point of view. Thus the job can only help you in your preparation for CA. The income from your job will also help you to purchase good, additional study materials and take tutions for your CA examination preparations.
I hope that such an answer will satisfy the people at the interview board should they ask you the question that is haunting your mind.
But do go to the interview prepared with different aspects of CA that you have completed or are studying at present and also general concepts on the different aspects of CA. Questions from those directions could come too.
Best of luck.

Tell them that you still want to continue your CA at the same time you dont happy being dependent on others to support you, You love to be independent and self sufficient. And if there are openings in the same bank for CA you will be happy to move up the ladder. Tell them you have read a lot about the present bank and its efficiency and want to be part of it and stay with it. (read about the bank before you say something).
This will give a good idea of how good you will be if they hire you.

as you yourself have said that you are not leaving doing ca , put it in simple plain language to the people who are conducting the interview , that if selected for the post ,you would still be interested in completing ca , as it would help you in furthering your career .
