Because true, real Anarchy would NOT be pretty. If humans were perfect we could all have absolute freedom, just like Communism could totally work out great if no one was selfish or greedy. But people aren't perfect, so we need the notion of respect to help us realize that our rights end at the point where we infringe on others' rights. To good people that should be obvious, but many are too dumb, selfish, or just mean to think of that on their own.

Freedom and respect walk hand in hand. We cannot be free without others, nor they without us. It is not a matter of individuality or submission, but of autonomy deriving from proportional and proportinate authority.
My respect for others is part of my freedom, I choose whom I respect and how. My freedom also derives from the respect I receive from others. If I had no value in their eyes my existence itself could be in danger. We are all interdependent, no one lives in isolation.

There is a phrase; "freedom without license". This means that your freedom goes just as far as possible, without infringing on the rights of others. We live in a society, not in isolation.

Respect is honoring another person or thing. If I didn't respect you, I would care less about your freedom.

Personally, I've never had a problem with the two.

I'm very much into personal freedom, but I'm also humble enough to extend a modicum of respect and tolerance to those around me.

I'm into social nude recreation, but that doesn't mean that I need to "display" my naked ass to those who would prefer NOT to see it.

Does that make sense to you?

Because rights come with responsibilities. As free people, we have the responsibility to be respectful to others.

When we are not respectful, we must take the consequences.

When we take the consequences of our free acts, we do not become any less free.

RESPECT IS DEFINED IN THE BIBLE AS DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. UNFORTUNATELY MOST PEOPLE FOLLOW THE MAXIM OF DO UNTO OTHERS AND THEN SPLIT. FREEDOM IS THE ABILITY TO DO AS YOU PLEASE. THAT ABILITY STOPS HOWEVER WHEN WHAT YOU WANT TO DO INFRINGES ON MY RIGHTS OR THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS. AT THAT POINT YOU MUST DECIDE IF YOU ARE GOING TO 'RESPECT' THE OTHER PERSON OR IF YOU ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO DO AS YOU PLEASE. WARS START OVER SITUATIONS SUCH AS THIS. I CHERISH BOTH MY FREEDOM AND THE FREEDOM OF OTHERS. THIS IS KNOWN AS DEMOCRACY.
