....if they never (and will never) experience bearing a child? What are your thoughts?

WTF, you can't compare a dog to a human. There is a big difference from owning a pet and actually bearing a child.

No. As I have said before, only women can bare children. This is not a conspiracy or a plot. A man has every right to use protection, not have sex, and choose carefully who he impregnates (as a woman has these choices, too). Once the deed is done, it is out of his hands. To try and come up with philosophical excuses after the fact to skirt responsibility or force another human to submit physically (by either having a child or having an abortion) is wrong. Both men and women need to be more sexually responsible.

As a man:

I think we should have some say, but ultimately it is the woman's body, not ours.

If the man wants to be involved with the potential child, and the woman does not, then it is her choice. He can go elsewhere to have a child or adopt. However, were it me I would try to influence her to make the decision I want, even it meant just handing the child over to me at the end (I would happily pay for all medical costs and never come after her for child support).

If the woman wants it and the man does not then he can walk away no obligation. He has no right to demand or request an abortion. However if he is having nothing to do with the child I believe child support should not be paid.

If they both want it, then its even simplier-have it, pay child support or get together.

This line is a complete farce. It takes 2 to tango and women can clean the man out financially, they have every right to have a choice.

The whole issue of abortion is not about choice. The issue is about people behaving irresponsibly and not accepting the consequences of it.

The issue of abortion would not be much of one if kids are taught that sex is a responsibility and do not have it until you are ready to get married, have the child, and be able to support it.

From the male PoV, it seems like a double standard. If you *ahem* participate in the conception of a new life, and you desperately want a child, but the woman in question doesn't, she can kill it, and you have no say. If, OTOH, the last thing you want is to have a kid, but she decides to keep it, she can sue you for child support.

Am I saying that one of those things needs to change? Not really, I'm comfortable with double standards that favor women. Call me old-fashioned that way.

But, philosophically, forcing a woman to carry a child to term infringes on her rights and freedoms and forcing a man to pay for the support of an unwanted child infringes on his rights and freedoms, as well (just not as viscerally).

Abortion is just a fancy name for murdering a baby before it is born. It is incredible that a baby's right to life is not protected while they are in the womb.

An embryo or foetus is a living human being - not just a bunch of cells that we can dispose of.

Most abortions are carried out on healthy babies because someone thought they couldn't cope - boo hoo :(

God made everyone of us and He said He knew you before you were born, therefore an unborn child is a person to God before it is born.

Shame on you if you think its OK to kill a child because its inconvenient for your lifestyle.

I found another question on here from someone who was offended by a "Right to life" bill board. Unbelievable!!!!

Sure if they offer to pay all the delivery bills, child care bills, birth control bills. Sure mandate that men are resonsible for all the medical bills. Actually no, because that not going to happen, and I dont think its my right or a mans right to tell what an individual what rights they have over what they do.

I don't know if you mean on an individual level or a legal level. Individually if abortion is legal then it should be 100% up to the woman.

On the legality debate since it is clearly a human rights issue (despite some trying to cloud it as a woman's rights issue) yes men should have as much right to debate and condone it as anyone else.

The reason that the abortion debate has gone on so long is that the majority of the legislators are all middle aged white men. Not only are they not likely to get pregnant, they have no concept of the issues in the poorest areas of our country where abortions are most prolific.

They lost their right to be consulted on the issue by being irresponsible with it and using it as a political football.

My suggestion is that whenever they go on vacation the Capitol building should be opened for use by their wives and let them conclude the issue.

I think it's very sad if a man wants a child and the woman aborts it... really heartbreaking.

But she's the one who has to take care of it and feed it and live with it. It's always down to the woman. So it's just not something he can get a say in, if he was just going to be a weekend dad (I'm kind of assuming that after a fall out over this issue which resulted in him over-riding her wished, the couple wouldn't be together afterwards...)

Anyway... how many of these men got the girl pregnant because he didn't want to wear a condom?

Yes, I do believe they should have a say in protecting a child from abortion. It is after all his seed that is growing within her.

Also thanks for clearing up the matter on a dog not being on the same level as a human. I'm so tired of the comparison of child abuse with animal abuse. Both is cruel and should not be allowed but in no way should dog abuse be look at as though it was human. They are not on the same level.
Fine the man please.
