Chronicles is definitely worth your time, but Potter is better. In my opinion book three of Narnia (Voyage of the Dawn Treader) should be skipped. The first, second, and seventh books are much better than the rest of the series. With Potter, favorites are a matter of opinion--all the books are pretty good. The best part is that they seemed to get better as the series went along--we all loved the first book, but I think most people would pick book V, VI, or VII as their favorite in the Potter series.

I think Harry Potter is better than Chronicles of Narnia. Harry Potter is exciting. It's the best series I have ever read in my life. But Chronicles of Narnia is also a good book. Try to enjoy both of them.

I find I can get more involved in the HP series, but the Narnia books have a lot of good fantasy involved. I would have to say the Harry Potter books are better, from my point of view, anyways. But the Narnia books are still good to read.

I loved the books and movie(s) of Harry Potter and The Series of Unfortunate Events and the Chronicle of Narnia but I haven't read any of the Narnia books.

Hands down Harry Potter, but I really did like the Chronicles of Narnia! Both series are really awesome. Sorry if that doesn't really help!

It depends what sort of read you're looking for. In terms of storytelling quality, the books are about equal, but I'm a little biased in favor of the Chronicles. Nothing at all against JKR; I just think that C.S. Lewis is the better writer!
The Harry Potter books are longer reads (especially toward the end of the series, as you know very well), and while they have their dark & scary moments, they're basically fun reading.
The Chronicles of Narnia are much shorter reads. When all seven of them are collected into one book, it ends up being about the same size as Order of the Phoenix. But because they're seven short books, it'll be a lot easier to stop and pick up where you left off because they won't get as involved and in-depth as the Harry Potter books.
They read more like just plain adventure stories (but very good ones), and they have more funny moments than scary ones. The Narnia books also have the Christian allusions and symbology built into them, so you end up getting a little teaching woven into the story. If that's not your cup of tea, you might not enjoy them as much, but if you're OK with those references, you'll have fun.

I would say Harry Potter is better, because before I read any of those I read the whole Chronicles of Narnia series and forgot everything that happened besides in the first book (that's only because I have the first book). So, apparently it wasn't very memorable. However, they are still very good books, and I intend to read them again to refresh my memory. If you're thinking about reading them, go for it (you don't have to buy them, you can just get them from the library).

I know, i know, Harry Potter is an amazing series. Yet, it does not have the depth that is hidden within the pages of Narnia. I remember the first time i picked up one of the books, The Magician's Nephew. I'm not going to lie to you, i hadn't had a bad day like that, ever. I heard some strikingly bad news that day and i believed that nothing would ever make me happy. Yet, The Magician's Nephew actually put a smile onto my face. It's seriously a great book and is sure to make you tingle inside. The creation of Narnia felt to me as a new creation of joy.

"Convenient?" What do you mean by convenient?
The Chronicles of Narnia are good books. They are a little deeper than the Harry Potter books, but you can't really say that one series is better than the other.
Try reading Chronicles of Narnia and decide for yourself which you like better.
There are a lot of similar series out there.
