I was on the depo shot from Jan to Mar. I started my period in the middle of March. As soon as I was due to get the next shot I decided I wanted to switch to the pill so I have been on the pill from April-now. I have been bleeding every since March! It is horrible I am tired of it! I went to planned parent hood after bleeding for a month and they tolf me it was because I was coming off of the shot. I then had a kidney infection and had to go to the hospital about that and when I went to the doctor to make sure the infection was gone (it was) I told her about the bleeding(about 2 1/2 months of bleeding) she also told me it was because of the shot. Well I have been bleeding for 5 months now and I know that this is not normal and I am not taking "it is because of the shot" as an answer anymore. Anybody have an idea of what could be going on?? I have cramps and the bleeding goes from light to heavy, normally light. I get dizzy and have headaches. I am only 20 years old. Please help!

You might have fibroids but you're awfully young to have them. I would return to your doc. & have more tests run,
something is not right with your body. The dizziness & headaches could be a side affect from all the blood loss.
It sounds like to me, there are other things going on with your body.

This actually is from the shot! When you get it you don't have periods they way your body was made to so when you come off of it there is generally a build up of old uterine lining that needs to come out. I'd make sure to take a multivitamin and iron supplement just to keep up energy levels. If bleeding doesn't stop in the next month or so I would go back to the doctor!

Can you possibly have vascular problems? dizzyness happens cause the blood flow doens´t get to your head properly.
I think you can have a cyst or something in your ovaries or uterus, bleeding that long is due to strange bodies in youir uterus.I think the shot wasn´t good for you and you´re having side effects maybe, that´s why I wonder if you have vascular problems. I f you do you can be developing more things, so you should g to a reliable doctor now.
I had an allergy to jasmin I gt terrible bloated, and got very scared cause I thought I was forming a blood cloth, thank God I wasn´t but I got really scared, and I felt very very worng due to my nervousness

Good luck! and don´t worry, you´ll make the problem worst.

This is serious; you can actually die from this if it goes on much longer! Go to the doctor now until someone listens. You are severely anemic at the this point (not enough red blood cells) That's where the dizziness is coming from and headaches. You're probably not in a very good mood.( I got really snappy when that happened to me.)

You may need a blood transfusion (not to scare you or anything). You've got to tell someone like your mom NOW. Please get treatment and don't get that shot again.

...This actually IS from the shot, most likely. A very long, extended period, maybe lasting the entire duration of the time you use the shot and longer, is not an uncommon complaint of women who use the Depo Provera shot.

Talk to your doctor about switching birth controls.
