I sure do, I got paddled at the end of the day for hitting this girl in the face with my backpack. Anyone have any teacher horror stories? Ours was there was this one third grade teacher that had a paddle with holes, he proudly displayed it in his classroom. We were scared and stayed away from him.

sure,and i probably didn't get it as much as i should have.i don't think it ever should have been done away with at school or home.kids today are way outta control.they do what they want when they want because they no there are gonna be no consequences to their actions.....sad i have to say, that we have let it come to this........

Our junior high school shop teacher made a custom paddle for the principal. It was one of those two-handed jobs with holes in the paddle. I only experienced it once. Five swats in the lower part of my buttocks. It lifted me off the ground and left some distinguishing welt marks. Other than that my 7th grade math teacher broke a yardstick (the triangular jobs) over my back. I was not what you would call a serious student in my younger days.

I had a few teachers like that. My grade school principal had a collection of paddles. He used them depending on the severity of the infraction.

Oh yeah, I can still remember my weekly paddles, and the principle had this huge wooden paddle with holes in it,,and they should still continue the practice,,,we have way too many spoiled brats in schools,,,,,,,

We got strappings on our hands. I never did. Just the stories were enough to make me be a good girl! Anyone try teaching lately? If only kids these days had some incentive to listen and learn!

yes i remember it well. too many stories tell, one teacher got a little carried away once, like 4th or 5th grade, my mom went to the school and stomped that teachers azz. needless to say, no other school official ever even considered paddling me after that. they found alternative" methods to reprimand my behavior.
I have kids now, and they still use corporal punishment. wonder how many places it's still legal?

Yep! I got paddled in 8th grade for putting lipgloss on in class.Didn't hurt though.

When I was a new teacher in 1967, I witnessed our principal hit a teen that was acting out. I was shocked, even then. And when my son was in grade school, one of his teachers hit him. Looking back, I shoulda had him canned!

Rulers over the knuckles in Catholic school. It never happened to me, but I saw it many times. Also, there was one teacher (not a priest) who would spank the boys all the time. He turned out to be gay, and was fired.
