Setting aside the whole death problem of the vacuum of space, the pressure, temperature, radiation exposure, etc... that would kill any living thing we know of before it could fart, let alone inhale someone else's fart... in theory, yes. If a fart were successfully produced in space, the particles in the gas could be inhaled (again, barring the inevitable death of both farter and fartee), and the brain of the person inhaling it would process the scent of those particles. And unless of course it came from me, it would stink. Of course, this is much like asking an if you could survive [some un-survivable experience like Rosie O'Donnell sitting on you] question. Doesn't really matter what the rest of the question is, since it's predicated on an impossibility to begin with.

In space there are so few moleculesandatoms that a gas released there diffuses throughout the "atmosphere" in a split second. Therefore therewouldbe no scent lingering around after emission, it would travel and disperse very rapidly throughout space.

On the other hand in an artificial atmosphere inside a spaceship things would occur as per usual.

Never been in outer space , but I have noticed that if I'm sitting in a hot tub, and accidentally drop one , when the bubbles burst at the top of the water the smell is amplified!
I'm trying to work out a commercial use for this, any ideas?

They would dissipate with extreme velocity the greatest threat would from the expansion of the gasses.
They smell in a space suit!

If a tree in a forest falls and there's no one there there is no noise. Likewise if an unfortunate lost fart is in space, there is no one there so there's no smell. QED. DB

Nobody can fart in space; neither anybody can smell it too!

Beware! Farting is banned in space.

no because there are no gases in space and therefore the fart smell does not diffuse ans therefore no smell

as space is a vacuum no, but if you tried to fart in space you would suffer explosive decompression if not is a pressurised suit (then you wouldn't be in space)
