What causes teens to have "pre-sex" is the same thing that causes adults to have pre-marital sex. I agree, that kids are having sex at a young age these days, but society spoils them. They're provided with free emergency contraception when needed, free health clinics and etc. So, teens do as they please sexually and their consequences are sheltered.

What *causes* teens to have sex is a mix of both natural urges of the human body as well as how they are exposed to the idea of sexual activity growing up. If a child grows up in a family that is open about sex, yet cautious about possible outcomes, chances are that kid will wait until they are ready, as opposed to a child growing up in a household where sex was never spoken about and it was not proper to discuss. They are more lilkely to explore at a younger age, and not be fully aware of the consequences. Other than that.... sex is great, humans love it, its how we survive. And as long as the kids arent 13 or not being safe... eh, let em explore a little.

LOL.....I hope you don't think this is something new.

Teenagers have been having "pre-sex" from the beginning of time......that's why a long time ago they could only be in the company of a member of the opposite sex with a chaperon.

They know about the consequences but because they're teenagers they think it couldn't happen to them.

Ther is a lack of sex education in this country and its demeaning to everyone. Kids are going to have sex, they have been for centuries. Its just a natural part of growing up. Sexual urges when they start to come up are hard to deny. Some kids will do anything to fulfill the urges even if love is not involved. I just wish more kids were taking precautions, thats all.

Mature people don't blame the Young. As they are kept in ignorance by people who "think" they are protecting them.
They are not lazy bums today, but are being effected by the nature of this world. The material comfort they have today.
Many "adults" are still in denial about their own mistakes when young.
As well as the young who don't want to deal with things like constant threats of Nuclear War. The End of the World, and having to go to Hell for everything!
Which would drive any sane person nuts, if they let it.

Good question. I think it's talked about so much, that ideas get put into kids heads. If it were never discussed, maybe it would not be such a big deal, hence not as many would be so interested it...especially those kids that are 12 and 13 and have not even hit puberty yet! How do you have a sexual desire, if you haven't even gotten pubic hairs yet??????

Hormones and biology. "In the wild", they'd be having sex at the very onset of puberty. It's only our complex civilization and it's unrealistic demands and expectations that tries to rein them in, against their nature. It's not the teenagers that are wrong for wanting to have sex, it's the rest of the world for trying to stop them.

It feels good. And yes, all teens are ignorant about the consequences. You don't have the ability to make good decisions at that time of your life.

Pressure, the media, curiosity, wanting to feel "grown up", feeling in love and wanting to experiment
