Here is a link that identifies all 50 states laws for helmet use:
http://usff.com/hldl/frames/50state.html
But the law aside, is it really worth the risk? Do you really believe you will be the person who will never fall? Have you ever fallen or spoken to someone who has fallen? Have you ever just been hurt really bad where you would understand what 6 months to 2 years of recovery would feel like? And lastly do you really like the taste of bugs that much? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying don't ride but be smart about it. Don't just be one more stupid statistic.

Indiana UNDER 18
Kentucky UNDER 21
Tenn FULL HELMET
Alabama FULL HEMET
Florida UNDER 21 (must have full medical insurance)
Georgia FULL HELMET
Missouri FULL HELMET
Depending on your age you could take it off in 3/7 states. The link is updates as of 20 June 2007. Although I dont agree with not wearing a helmet, here is your answer.

Don't know how the law pertains to "out of state" riders, but in Indiana, helmets are required for one year after obtaining your license. As for helmets being required for all riders after one year of experience, the answer is no.

Indiana there is no law requiring a helmet. Feel free to die in an accident if you dont wear one. My friend reended a bike a month ago and both people died from head trama. The doctor flat said they both would have lived if they wore there helmets. He is not getting charged with anything since it was an emergency stop and his dually truck couldnt stop as fast as the bike. The couple had just retired and now they are dead. I bet they are glad they weren't wearing helmets

Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia - yes, helmets required
Kentucky, Florida - no helmet required with age restrictions and insurance.
BUT - it would be wise to wear one for your own protection anyway.....

I've been riding for 35 years and never wear a helmet. Besides 45% of all motorcyle deaths are "single vehicle" accidents. IE The rider was doing something stupid.
I just figure when it's my time to go it's my time and there is nothing I can do to change that. If you don't want to wear a helmut it's your choice and it's okay. Of course that's a personl statement. You must follow all state laws as provided above.
