Unless they can figure out a way to spread out their runs (instead of the maddening score 12 in a game, 3 in the next 5 games, then 12 again system of incosistency they seem to be devoted to), no. I have never been so frustrated by a sports team in my life.
Early on, we were scoring runs, but our starting pitching was atrocious. Now our starting pitching is lights out, but we can't hit. Aaaaarrggh!
I will say that if Francisco Liriano can come back from his surgery anywhere close to last year's form, I am really looking forward to next year.
Santana
Garza
Liriano
Baker
Bonser
Looks like the best rotation in baseball to me. Punto, Kubel, and White all need to step it up if our beloved Twins have any shot this year.

i'm a realistic Twins fan.
Things couldn't have gone worse since the all-star break. The Tigers and the Indians haven't played well at all, but the Twins have played just as bad. They have scored by far the lowest amount of runs in the MLB. The lineup just has no punch on a consistent basis. It's awfully frustrating.
Just enjoy watching our young stud pitchers for the rest of the season and don't worry about the standings.

unlikely.. Santana has not been as dominant post all star break as he has in the past, and the Twins need to pass two teams this time, not one.. Throw in that Morneau and Mauer, while having good seasons, are off their pace of last year and you have a team that likely will finish third, but you never know.. Both Cleveland and Detroit have played poorly the last 20 games or so, each only winning about 6 or 7.. But that could be that both teams hit a lull, and if they both play, or even one plays like they did pre All star break, then Minnesota will have no chance.. The likelihood that both Cleveland and Detroit continue their funk is unlikely.. at least one of them will hit a hot streak again..

Yes, God Bless you! The Twins still have a chance because of the dead teams in front of us.
But we have to have Rondell White show up and play for at least a month. We have almost no production from the LF/DH spots, so that would help.
The pitching is just fine, but the hitting is slumping at the worst times. Too bad to, because the division is right there to take.

Having seen the Twins win game six in 1987 World Series, I am always hopeful.

There is no doubt they have the talent, but they have a huge hill to climb and a short time to do it. Some other team would have to fall flat. Thats not likely considering the strength of a lot of teams in the AL.

I would love for it to happen...this has been such an exciting season for us...what a great group of guys we have out there...I wish they could make it...we'll just have to see how they do in the next couple of games...
But regardless of if they make it or not...this was a great season and I enjoy baseball more than ever, so I'll still support them for sure...

I hope so. If the White Sox can't do it, I would prefer your Twins to the Cubs, or any other team in the Central.

I am a Yankee fan, but until they are mathematically eliminated they are still in it. They always have a late season push and find a way to get it done.
